Pet resin drying temperature for preforms

Drying PET resin is a critical part of the production process when making preforms that are used to create bottles and containers. If the resin is not dried properly, it could result in the production of low-quality products. EFFICIENT is aware that drying resin for preform machine requires a careful monitoring of temperature. When the temperature is too low, the resin will not release enough moisture. If it's too high, the resin can be damaged. Knowing the proper drying temperature is very important for making strong and dependable preforms.

What is the Ideal Pet Resin Drying Temperature for Preforms?

The dry temperature of PET resin should be around 170 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 77 to 82 degrees Celsius). At these temperatures, the moisture in the resin is removed properly without causing any harm to the material. For example, at 175 degrees Fahrenheit, the resin will quickly and effectively lose moisture. This is critical because moisture is one of the factors that cause problems in the injection molding process. When the resin has too much moisture, it can cause defects such as bubbles or weak spots in the final product. EFFICIENT recommends that you measure the moisture content of the resin before and after drying in the pet preform production line
